Kingshot Mystic Trial Guide: Formations & Rewards

See starter troop ratios for all six Kingshot Mystic Trial rooms, what each room checks, unlock timing, Raid rewards, and Trial Shop priorities.

Mystic Trial is six different account checks sharing one event screen. Coliseum looks at your heroes and Hero Gear. Forest of Life cares about Pets. Crystal Cave checks Governor Charms. The same troop formation will not be best in all of them.

Use the table below when you need a formation quickly. These are starting ratios, not magic answers. A close loss may only need the first alternate. A bad loss usually means the room's main upgrade system is behind.

Ratios are Infantry / Cavalry / Archers. Every room except Radiant Spire gives you Level 10 troops for the fight. Training more troops will not get you through those five rooms; improving the stats used by that room will. Radiant Spire is the exception because you bring your own army.

First goal: Clear Stage 1-10 in every room. That unlocks Raid and turns each room into a permanent source of weekly Trial Crystals.

Unlocks And Weekly Schedule

Mystic Trial normally appears once you reach Town Center 19, but a new kingdom may not open it immediately. If you are already TC19 and the Command Center still shows it as locked, you probably need to wait for the kingdom-age unlock.

Later rooms stay locked until their matching system is available. You cannot push the Pet room before Pets exist on your kingdom, for example.

How I Would Use The Five Attempts

You get five challenge attempts for each open room, refreshed at 00:00 UTC. An attempt is only spent when you lose. Wins are free, so keep climbing until the game actually stops you.

When Quick Challenge ends or the game warns that a march is likely to fail, try the stage manually anyway. The power check does not fully account for hero and troop skill triggers, and it can stop you earlier than your real limit.

After a loss:

  1. Barely lost? Retry the same formation once. Sometimes the skill rolls are all you need.
  2. Still close? Change only the troop ratio, then compare how many enemy troops are left.
  3. Lost badly? An upgrade is probably needed. Use the remaining attempts because they do not carry over, but do not expect five copies of the same bad setup to fix a large stat gap.

The final report does not show which troop type died first. It is good for comparing two attempts, but not for proving that your Infantry "collapsed" or that one exact stat caused the loss.

Only Coliseum and Radiant Spire let you choose heroes. The other four rooms use the progression system listed in the schedule, so changing heroes there is wasted effort.

Coliseum Troop Ratio And Formation

Start at 50 / 10 / 40. If that gets close but does not clear, try 55 / 15 / 30 before spending anything.

This is the room where hero choice really matters. Use combat heroes with good Expedition skills, not gathering or growth heroes that happen to be a higher level. Stars, skills, and Hero Gear matter more than hero level on its own.

Gear swapping is worth the hassle when you are close to another clear, especially before Stage 1-10. Move your strongest Hero Gear onto the heroes carrying your biggest troop shares, finish the push, and move it back afterward. There is no reason to leave your Bear Hunt or Arena setup weaker for the rest of the week.

If Coliseum is far behind your other rooms, the formation probably is not the real problem. Work on the Hero Gear Guide and Mithril Guide before forcing more retries.

Forest Of Life Troop Ratio And Formation

Use 50 / 15 / 35 first, with 55 / 10 / 35 as the easy alternate.

Forest of Life reads your Pet progress as a whole. You do not assign one Pet to Infantry, another to Cavalry, and another to Archers. Pet levels, marks, and combat skills do the heavy lifting; the troop ratio only helps you squeeze out a little more from what you already built.

When two ratios lose by roughly the same amount, take the hint and stop. Another Pet upgrade will do more than cycling through ten nearly identical formations. The Pet Guide covers which upgrades deserve those materials.

Crystal Cave Troop Ratio And Formation

The best opener here is 60 / 20 / 20. I would test 65 / 15 / 20 next if the first attempt is close.

This room is about Governor Charms. Look at the Charm upgrades you can actually afford, make one useful improvement, and test the same stage again.

Do not let the battle report talk you into upgrading a specific stat. It does not tell you whether Health, Defense, Attack, or Lethality caused the loss. Use your visible Charm progress and upgrade costs instead. See the Governor Charms Guide if this is your weakest room.

Knowledge Nexus Troop Ratio And Formation

Open with 50 / 20 / 30, then try 55 / 15 / 30.

Only combat research helps you climb here. Academy economy research may be good for the account, but it will not rescue a failed Knowledge Nexus stage. Keep a combat technology running and lean the formation slightly toward a troop type only when its research is clearly ahead.

When Knowledge Nexus is lagging, you need more combat research or a better ratio—not a different hero lineup.

Molten Fort Troop Ratio And Formation

Start heavier on Infantry at 60 / 15 / 25. The first alternate I would try is 65 / 15 / 20.

Molten Fort uses Governor Gear. A 5-10% shift toward the troop type helped most by your current gear is a reasonable test, but do not spread expensive Governor Gear upgrades just to make every stat look even. Buy the next upgrade that actually moves the troop type doing most of the work.

For the longer upgrade plan, use the Governor Gear Guide.

Radiant Spire Troop Ratio And Formation

Sunday starts at 50 / 15 / 35. Useful alternates are 55 / 10 / 35 and 50 / 10 / 40. Bring your best combat heroes and your own highest-tier troops.

Radiant Spire uses the whole account rather than isolating one system. Heroes, gear, Pets, Charms, research, Governor Gear, and permanent combat buffs all add up here. Raw account power is much noisier because a large troop count can inflate it, which is why players often use Radiant progress as the better quick comparison.

Your weakest specialist room is the first place I would look before Sunday:

  • Weak Coliseum: heroes or Hero Gear
  • Weak Forest of Life: Pets
  • Weak Crystal Cave: Governor Charms
  • Weak Knowledge Nexus: combat research
  • Weak Molten Fort: Governor Gear

Fix an affordable upgrade in that system, then retry Radiant with the same heroes and ratio. Changing three things at once teaches you nothing.

Why Most Ratios Cut Cavalry

Infantry beat Cavalry, Cavalry beat Archers, and Archers beat Infantry. On top of that triangle, Cavalry have a chance to bypass the frontline and hit Archers, while Archers have a chance to fire a second volley. Those troop skills add variance even in rooms without heroes.

That is why several good Trial formations use only 10-20% Cavalry instead of an even split. It is not a rule that Cavalry are bad. It is simply a better opener for these fights. An account with much stronger Cavalry stats should still test a Cavalry-heavy alternate rather than blindly copying the table.

Rewards: Push Once, Get Paid Every Week

Mystic Trial has three reward tracks:

  • First Win Rewards are the one-time chest and Mystic XP from clearing a stage for the first time.
  • Raid Rewards are the weekly Trial Crystals based on the highest stage you have ever cleared in that room. Clear Stage 1-10 to unlock Raid. Each cleared stage adds 10 Trial Crystals to that room's weekly payout.
  • Milestone Rewards use Mystic XP from all six rooms and include items such as Mithril, Mythic General Hero Shards, Mythic Gear chests, and permanent decoration upgrades.

When a room resets, you do not lose the progress that matters. You collect the Raid payout for your previous best and continue pushing from there. The reset also does not remove your leaderboard ranking.

Stage 1-10 comes first because it opens a reward stream you can collect every week. After that, every extra clear still raises the next Raid payout, so keep pushing whenever your account gets stronger.

What To Buy In The Trial Shop

Once TG Dust appears, buy all of it every week. T11 troops need an enormous amount, and the Trial Shop only lets you buy a limited supply. I would not trade that steady income for speedups or other easy-to-replace items.

My order is:

  1. TG Dust once it appears
  2. Mithril when Red Hero Gear is relevant or getting close
  3. Gear XP Parts
  4. Charm Designs when Charms are holding you back
  5. Mythic General Hero Shards or Gold Gear chests only for a specific build

If TG Dust has not reached your shop yet, save the Trial Crystals. The early filler looks useful because you can buy it now, but you will wish you had the currency once the hard-to-replace materials arrive.

The Kingshot Shop Guide has the full buy order for every recurring shop. For formation testing outside Mystic Trial, see the Troop Formations Guide.
