Kingshot Voyage of Light Guide: Voyager Teams, Tidal Treasures & Max Rewards (2026)

Master the Kingshot Voyage of Light event. Learn Voyager Team priority, compass strategy, Tidal Treasure merge math, milestone rewards, the Sails Aloft packs, and F2P tactics.

Quick Summary: Voyage of Light is a passive treasure event where you dispatch Voyager Teams on timed voyages to collect Tidal Treasures. Merge Common treasures into Premium, then Premium into Exquisite or Majestic, and push voyage-count milestones for Forgehammers and Gear Boost Custom Chests. Team 1 is always free. The rest cost Gems — and the paid Team 4 backpack is the best-value spend in the event.

Voyage of Light is the same family of event as Windward Voyage — if you've sailed one, the rhythm here will feel familiar. The core loop: dispatch teams, wait out the voyage timer, collect Tidal Treasures, merge lower tiers into higher ones, and bank milestone rewards as your cumulative voyage count climbs.

Two things separate Voyage of Light from a plain reskin, and both change how you play it. First, Majestic Tidal Treasures are reachable by merging here — you don't have to wait on a leaderboard. Second, the milestone track pays out in Forgehammers and Gear Boost Custom Chests, which are gear-enhancement currency, so this event is effectively a gear-progression event wearing a treasure-hunt costume.

Event Overview

Event Type: Individual passive event (no PvP required)

Structure: ~5 days of active voyaging, then a 1-day treasure collection window

Voyager Teams: Up to 4 (you start with 1)

Treasure Tiers: Common > Premium > Exquisite / Majestic Tidal Treasure

Key Resource: Compasses — each one shortens a voyage by 1 hour

Milestone System: Voyage-count checkpoints at 1 / 5 / 20 / 60 / 120 / 200 / 350 voyages

Headline Rewards: Forgehammers, Gear Boost Custom Chests, Lucky Hero Gear Chests, Mithril, Enhancement XP, Mythic General Hero Shards

The collection window matters. Once the active phase ends, you get one extra day to open or merge treasures — but Voyager Teams can no longer be dispatched. When that day runs out, every unopened treasure is auto-opened and the rewards land in your Backpack. Nothing is lost if you forget, but you lose the choice of merging if you wait too long. Do your final merges before the timer hits zero.

Voyager Teams (Your Dispatch Slots)

Voyager Teams are how many voyages you can run at once. More active teams means more treasures per cycle, which directly drives your milestone pace.

TeamHow to UnlockVerdict
Team 1Free for every GovernorDispatch it every cycle, no exceptions
Team 2Gems (cheap tier)The best Gem investment in the event
Team 3Gems (steep tier)Only worth it if you're chasing the leaderboard
Team 4Paid backpack (real money)Best value if you spend at all — bundles Gems + Compasses

All teams are event-only. Every team you employ — including the paid one — is valid for the current event only and resets next season. You're buying a few days of extra throughput, not a permanent upgrade. Price that into the decision before you spend on Team 3.

You can dispatch multiple teams on multiple voyages simultaneously, so each team you unlock multiplies your treasure output for the whole event. Gem costs scale steeply between Team 2 and Team 3 — check the exact in-game prices before committing, but the strategic order never changes: Team 2 first, then weigh Team 4, and treat Team 3 as a leaderboard-only luxury.

Compasses — Skip Hours, Not Voyages

Each Compass shortens a voyage by exactly 1 hour — not the whole voyage. If a voyage timer reads several hours, you need that many Compasses to clear it instantly. A pack of 100 Compasses is roughly a dozen instant voyages, not 100. Plan your purchases around hours skipped, not voyages completed.

There's a Complete All button: feed in enough Compasses and every ongoing voyage finishes at once. That's the efficient way to spend them in a burst near the end of the event, rather than trickling one at a time.

Sails Aloft packs: The main paid source. Every tier of the pack includes a Compass bundle.

Team 4 backpack: The paid Voyager Team 4 purchase also bundles Compasses and Gems — two upgrades in one buy.

Event progress: Smaller batches come through normal event participation — check before spending real money on a Compass-only purchase.

Compass Strategy by Spender Type

F2P Compass Strategy

With only a small Compass supply, you won't transform your voyage count — so don't waste them on Day 1. Hold them until you're within striking distance of the 20-voyage or 60-voyage milestone, then use them to cross the line. Your real lever as F2P is employing Team 2 and letting overnight voyages pile up.

Goal: Natural voyages + well-timed Compasses to clear the 20-voyage milestone, with a shot at 60.

Tidal Treasure System

Every completed voyage returns a Tidal Treasure. The tier is randomized, but you can merge lower tiers into higher ones — and unlike some events, the top tier here is reachable purely by merging.

The Treasure Tiers

TierFull NameMerge Into
CommonCommon Tidal Treasure3 > 1 Premium
PremiumPremium Tidal Treasure3 > 1 Exquisite or Majestic
ExquisiteExquisite Tidal TreasureCannot merge further (ceiling)
MajesticMajestic Tidal TreasureCannot merge further (ceiling)

You choose the top tier. When you merge Premium treasures upward, you can aim for Exquisite or Majestic. Majestic carries the richest contents (more Forgehammers, more Lucky Hero Gear Chests, the most Mythic General Hero Shards), so if you're committed to merging, push Premiums all the way to Majestic rather than stopping at Exquisite.

The Merge Chain

Never open a Common treasure individually. Hold them until you have three, then merge. The reward gap between three opened Commons and one opened Premium is significant — and it compounds again at every tier above.

What's Inside Each Tier

Common Tidal Treasure

Typical contents: A small resource chest, a few Enhancement XP parts, and a stack of short General Speedups.

Never open these one at a time. Hold until you have 3 and merge into Premium. The only exception is the very end of the collection window, when leftovers will auto-open anyway.

Milestone Rewards

Milestones are voyage-count checkpoints — you earn a reward each time your cumulative completed voyages hit a threshold. It's not a point system, and every voyage counts equally whether it finished naturally or via a Compass.

VoyagesRewardRealistic For
1Gear Boost Custom Chest x1Everyone
5Forgehammer x12All F2P with Team 1
20Forgehammer x24F2P with Team 2
60Gear Boost Custom Chest x2Active players, 2–3 teams
120Gear Boost Custom Chest x53–4 teams + some Compasses
200Gear Boost Custom Chest x6Low-to-moderate spenders
350Gear Boost Custom Chest x10Heavy spenders / whales

F2P realistic target: Running Team 1 and Team 2 across the active phase, natural voyages put the 20-voyage checkpoint (Forgehammer x24) comfortably in reach, with 60 (Gear Boost Custom Chest x2) achievable with some Compass help. That's a genuinely strong haul of gear-enhancement currency for zero real money.

This is why Voyage of Light is really a gear event: the milestone track is almost entirely Forgehammers and Gear Boost Custom Chests. If you're mid-way through enhancing your gear, prioritize this event — those rewards plug directly into that grind. See our Gear Enhancement Guide for where to spend them.

The Sails Aloft Packs

The paid packs in Voyage of Light are built around resources, Compasses, and VIP XP rather than treasures directly. Here's what each tier actually contains.

PackCompassesOther Highlights
Common100Gems, VIP XP, Lv.2 Resource Chests x200
Uncommon160More Gems, VIP XP x40, Resource Chests x400
Rare300Gems, VIP XP x60, Resource Chests x800
Epic600Big Gems, 1,000 VIP XP x12, Lv.3 Resource Chests
Team 4 Backpack60Voyager Team 4, Gems, VIP XP, Resource Chests

Read the packs as VIP + Compass bundles, not treasure shortcuts. None of these packs hand you Tidal Treasures directly — they give Compasses (to clear voyages faster) plus Gems, VIP XP, and resources. If your only goal is event rewards, the Team 4 Backpack is the standout: it's the cheapest tier and the only one that unlocks a permanent-for-the-event extra team. Buy that first; only climb to the higher Sails Aloft tiers if you specifically want the VIP XP and resources.

F2P vs Spender Strategy

F2P Strategy

Goal: Hit the 20–60 voyage milestones for Forgehammers and Gear Boost Chests; merge aggressively.

  1. Team 1 runs 24/7 — re-dispatch it the instant it returns, every cycle
  2. Spend Gems on Team 2 — the best Gem value in the event, full stop
  3. Never open Common treasures — hold groups of 3 and merge to Premium
  4. Time your Compasses — save them for the run-up to the 20- or 60-voyage milestone
  5. Do final merges before the collection window closes — don't let unopened Premiums auto-open

Realistic outcome: 20–60 voyages, Forgehammer x24+ from milestones, plus a few self-merged Exquisite treasures.

Mistakes That Cost Players the Most

Stop doing these:

  • Opening Common treasures immediately — always wait for 3 to merge into Premium
  • Stopping merges at Exquisite — Majestic is reachable here and is strictly richer
  • Burning Compasses on Day 1 — they're hour-skips; save them for milestone run-ups and Complete All
  • Thinking a Compass finishes a voyage — it skips 1 hour; check the timer for how many you need
  • Skipping Team 2 — it's the best Gem value in the event
  • Forgetting the collection window — do final merges before unopened treasures auto-open
  • Not dispatching before bed — overnight voyages are free milestone progress

Daily Routine for Voyage of Light

Morning (First Login):

  • Collect returned voyages
  • Re-dispatch every Voyager Team immediately
  • Merge Commons into Premiums in groups of 3
  • Check your distance to the next milestone checkpoint

Midday:

  • Collect and re-dispatch all teams
  • Use a Compass if you're within a couple of hours of a milestone

Before Bed:

  • Dispatch all teams so they complete overnight
  • Merge any newly collected treasures
  • On the final active day, use Complete All to clear voyages before the collection window starts

Is Voyage of Light Worth Your Time?

For F2P Players: Yes — participate every time. Team 1 is free, the early milestones rain Forgehammers, and the merge system means even modest voyage counts compound into real gear-enhancement value.

For Low Spenders: High priority. The Team 4 Backpack is the best cost-to-reward purchase in the event, and merging Premiums to Majestic stretches every voyage further.

For Whales: A core gear event. The 350-voyage tier plus a stack of self-merged Majestics is one of the better Forgehammer sources available.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10 — accessible at every spending level, no hard paywall, and unusually generous with gear-enhancement currency for F2P players who merge smartly.

The Bottom Line

Voyage of Light is a passive treasure event that's really a gear-enhancement event in disguise. Dispatch Voyager Teams, collect Tidal Treasures, merge upward, and bank voyage-count milestones for Forgehammers and Gear Boost Custom Chests.

Key takeaways:

  1. Team 1 is free — dispatch it every cycle without exception
  2. Team 2 (Gems) is the best Gem value; the Team 4 Backpack is the best real-money buy
  3. Never open Common treasures alone — merge 3 into 1 Premium every time
  4. Majestic is reachable by merging here — push Premiums past Exquisite to Majestic
  5. Compasses skip 1 hour each — bank them for milestone run-ups and Complete All
  6. The milestone track is Forgehammers + Gear Boost Custom Chests — a gear-progression goldmine
  7. Merge before the 1-day collection window closes, or leftovers auto-open on their own
