Quick Answer: Moonlit Celebration runs September 20–26, 2026 (UTC) and bundles seven events: Myriad Lantern, Lanterns Aglow, Governor of the Moon, Symphony of Fame, Pitch-Pot Challenge, Top-up Benefits, and the Moonlight Shop. Myriad Lantern is the centerpiece — release Wisher's Lanterns to light a 5×5 number matrix and farm Mooncakes for the shop.
Kingshot's Mid-Autumn Festival event is here. Moonlit Celebration is a seven-day bundle, not one single mode, so it's easy to miss a track if you only check the game once a day. This guide covers what each event does, how the numbers work, and what to prioritize before the shop closes.
Event Schedule
| Event | Runs |
|---|---|
| Myriad Lantern, Lanterns Aglow, Governor of the Moon, Symphony of Fame, Pitch-Pot Challenge, Top-up Benefits | Sep 20 00:00 UTC – Sep 26 23:59 UTC |
| Moonlight Shop | Sep 20 00:00 UTC – Sep 27 23:59 UTC (one extra day to spend Mooncakes) |
The Moonlight Shop stays open a full day after every other event closes. Don't panic-spend Mooncakes on the last day of the other six events — you get 24 extra hours to decide.

Myriad Lantern
Myriad Lantern is the event's main draw mechanic, and it's where most of your Wisher's Lanterns go.
Myriad Lantern draws numbers onto a 5×5 matrix and pays out per completed line.
How a round works:
- At the start of each round, the game randomly picks 25 numbers from 1–50 to fill a 5×5 matrix.
- Releasing a Wisher's Lantern draws one random number. If that number is on your matrix, the tile lights up. A number that's already been drawn this round won't come up again.
- Lighting a complete horizontal or vertical line of five tiles pays out a Path Reward.
- Earning 3 Path Rewards in a round unlocks that round's Grand Prize.
- Fully lighting the matrix — or claiming the Grand Prize — starts a new round automatically, and you can also advance manually once the Grand Prize is unlocked.
Draw Odds Shift as the Round Goes On
The game doesn't draw numbers with flat odds. The more lanterns you've released this round, the more the draw favors numbers still sitting on your matrix:
| Lanterns released this round | Weight: numbers still on your matrix | Weight: numbers not on your matrix |
|---|---|---|
| 1–10 | 10 | 10 |
| 11–20 | 15 | 10 |
| 21–30 | 20 | 10 |
| 31–40 | 25 | 10 |
| 41–50 | 100 | 10 |
In plain terms: your first ten pulls are a coin flip whether they even land on the board. By the time you're past 40 pulls in a round, the game is heavily weighted to finish off whatever's left on your matrix. Don't panic if an early round feels unlucky — it corrects itself the longer you stay in a round.
Matrix Tiers
Your matrix can upgrade between rounds, and better tiers pay out better rewards on the same line-and-Grand-Prize structure above:
- Starter Matrix — the default. Each Path Reward you earn gives a small chance (it stacks each time you don't upgrade) that your next round starts on Millennial Matrix instead.
- Millennial Matrix — noticeably better rewards. Each Path Reward again gives a chance to jump to Myriad Matrix; if it doesn't hit, you drop back to Starter Matrix next round.
- Myriad Matrix — the top tier and the best rewards in the event. The round after a Myriad Matrix round always resets back to Starter.
You can't buy or force an upgrade — it's tied to how many Path Rewards you clear, so the fastest way to see Millennial and Myriad rounds is to keep releasing lanterns and clearing lines.
Auto Mode unlocks after your third round. It fires five lanterns at a time and refunds any that go unused if the board finishes early, which is the easiest way to burn through a lantern stockpile without babysitting each draw.
What Unused Lanterns Are Worth
Any Wisher's Lantern you haven't spent when the event ends converts to three 5-minute Training Speedups. That's a poor trade compared to spending it in a live round, so don't hoard them past the final day.
Lanterns Aglow
Lanterns Aglow is the event's battle pass. You collect Lantern Parts from Daily Missions (which reset 00:00 UTC) and spend them climbing a shared reward track.
Lanterns Aglow pays out on a shared Lantern Part track across three tiers.
There are three tracks running on the same milestone thresholds:
- Free — everyone earns these rewards as Lantern Parts come in.
- Heartfelt Desires (paid) — unlocks Epic-tier rewards on the same track and doubles your Daily Mission rewards going forward, so buy it early if you're buying it at all.
- Grand Visions (paid) — unlocks the season's Legendary-tier rewards on top of Heartfelt Desires.
Complete your Daily Missions every day of the event — the pass rewards are only as good as the Lantern Parts feeding them, and missed days don't come back.
Unused Lantern Parts convert to a 10,000 Secured Resource Supply Chest when the event ends. Better than nothing, but worse than whatever tier reward you left unclaimed — spend down to zero before the event closes.
Governor of the Moon
Governor of the Moon is a seven-day personal scoring and ranking event. Each day runs a different scoring category, and every day's points also add to your cumulative Overall Ranking.
Governor of the Moon rotates through seven daily stages, each with its own point targets.
Each stage has 5 milestones, and the point target to reach each one is fixed per day:
| Day | Stage | Milestone 1 | Milestone 2 | Milestone 3 | Milestone 4 | Milestone 5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Power Boost | 26,000 | 55,000 | 98,000 | 169,000 | 274,000 |
| 2 | Beast Hunting | 72,000 | 163,500 | 291,000 | 433,500 | 586,500 |
| 3 | Hero Development | 19,000 | 58,000 | 170,000 | 339,000 | 595,000 |
| 4 | Soldier Training | 26,000 | 55,000 | 98,000 | 169,000 | 274,000 |
| 5 | Hero Gear | 19,000 | 58,000 | 170,000 | 339,000 | 595,000 |
| 6 | Resource Gathering | 60,000 | 154,000 | 244,000 | 292,000 | 356,000 |
| 7 | Governor Gear | 19,000 | 58,000 | 170,000 | 339,000 | 595,000 |
Claiming a milestone gives you a chest, and the higher milestones scale up in value, so it's worth pushing for the full five each stage rather than stopping at the first one or two. Note that Power Boost and Soldier Training share identical targets, and Hero Development, Hero Gear, and Governor Gear also share the same targets — only Beast Hunting and Resource Gathering have their own unique numbers. If you cleared Day 1 comfortably, Day 4 will take the same effort.
Points are stage-specific — an action that scores on Power Boost day won't score on Beast Hunting day. Save Hero Shards, Forgehammers, troop training, and resource gathering for the day that actually rewards them instead of spending as soon as you have the materials.
At the end of the week, both your Stage Rankings (one per day) and your Overall Ranking (cumulative across all seven days) pay out separately, so a strong single day and a strong week are both worth something.
What Scores Points Each Day
Every one of the seven milestone targets above is identical to the corresponding day in King of the Arctic, the equivalent seven-stage event from the Whiteout Survival collaboration — not just Day 1, all seven. That's too exact to be a coincidence, so the task list below carries over King of the Arctic's per-action scoring values as your best reference for what to spend on each day. Treat it as a strong projection rather than a confirmed 1:1 match until the event is live on your server.
Symphony of Fame
Symphony of Fame is a 15-mission grid: designated missions arranged in rows and columns, similar in shape to other festival mission boards.
Complete a full row or column in Symphony of Fame to open that line's chest.
Rules:
- Complete designated missions during the event to earn rewards.
- Clear every mission on a full row or column to open that line's stage chest.
- Clear the entire grid to claim the Moonlight Gift, the final reward.
- Anything you haven't claimed when the event ends gets mailed to you automatically, so you won't lose progress you already earned — you just can't claim brand-new missions after the cutoff.
Treat this the same way you'd treat any mission grid: knock out the easy, fast missions first to open as many lines as possible, and save any mission tied to a rally, purchase, or long timer for early in the week so it has time to complete.
Pitch-Pot Challenge
Pitch-Pot Challenge is a timing minigame — you're tossing arrows into a pot, based on the traditional game of the same name.
Time your throw for the yellow zone, and land three straight Handle Shots to summon the Golden Pot.
How it works:
- Each game costs 1 Pot Ticket, earned from Pitch-Pot Daily Missions. Each game gives you 8 arrows.
- A moving gauge arcs over the pot. Throw while the marker is in the green zone to land in the pot's mouth, or in the yellow zone for extra points — a Handle Shot.
- Landing your first and last arrow of a game grants a bonus achievement, so don't waste those on a bad-timing throw.
- Land 3 consecutive Handle Shots and a Golden Pot appears — throws at it are guaranteed hits and don't cost arrows. Up to 3 Golden Pots can appear in a single game.
- Points earned convert into rewards at the end of the game; higher scores unlock better tiers.
- If you leave mid-stage, you forfeit that stage's reward, but you can re-enter later without spending another ticket — your points just reset.
Handle Shots are the whole game. Prioritize timing your throw for the yellow zone over just landing safely in the green — three in a row pays for itself with a free Golden Pot round.
Top-up Benefits
Top-up Benefits is a cumulative spend track — the more you've put into the event through purchases, the higher the reward tier you unlock. Progress doesn't reset daily; it accumulates across the full week. This one's paid-only, so F2P governors can skip straight to the other six events without missing anything free.
Moonlight Shop
The Moonlight Shop is where every Mooncake you earn eventually goes. It stays open one extra day after the rest of the event closes, through September 27.
The Moonlight Shop mixes limited permanent cosmetics with resource and progression items.
The shop mixes a handful of item types: a permanent town cosmetic as the headline purchase, a couple of other limited-stock cosmetics, and cheaper resource and progression items you can buy repeatedly or in bulk. Exact prices and stock can shift a little by kingdom progression, but the shape stays the same — one expensive permanent centerpiece, a couple of mid-priced limited items, and a stack of cheap staples to soak up leftover currency.
Spending priority:
- Decide on the permanent cosmetic first. It's the most expensive single item in the shop and the only one that's genuinely irreplaceable — everything else is either a repeatable resource or comes back in a future event.
- Grab the other limited-stock items next, while they're still in stock — those don't return once the counter hits zero.
- Dump remaining Mooncakes into the cheap, high-stock items. They're not exciting, but a currency that expires is worse than a currency spent on something mediocre.
Every unused Mooncake converts to just 1 Training Speedup (1 minute) when the event ends. Spend them — there's no good reason to be sitting on a full wallet on September 27.
Daily Routine
- Claim Daily Missions across Lanterns Aglow and Pitch-Pot Challenge before doing anything else — they're time-gated and don't stack up if you skip a day.
- Check which Governor of the Moon stage is active before spending Hero Shards, Forgehammers, or troop training resources.
- Release your Wisher's Lantern stock in Myriad Lantern, using Auto Mode once it unlocks to move through rounds faster.
- Play through your Pot Tickets in Pitch-Pot Challenge, timing throws for the yellow zone.
- Progress any open Symphony of Fame missions that are ready.
- Spend Mooncakes in the Moonlight Shop once you've settled on a priority order.
FAQ
When does Moonlit Celebration run?
September 20, 2026 00:00 UTC through September 26, 2026 23:59 UTC for the six core events. The Moonlight Shop stays open one extra day, through September 27, 2026 23:59 UTC.
What happens to leftover Wisher's Lanterns and Mooncakes?
Unused Wisher's Lanterns convert to three 5-minute Training Speedups each. Unused Mooncakes convert to one 1-minute Training Speedup each. Both are a downgrade from spending them in a live event, so use them before the cutoff.
Can F2P players compete in Moonlit Celebration?
Yes, for six of the seven events. Myriad Lantern, Lanterns Aglow's free track, Governor of the Moon, Symphony of Fame, and Pitch-Pot Challenge are all reachable without spending. Top-up Benefits is the one paid-only track, and Lanterns Aglow's Epic and Legendary tiers require the Heartfelt Desires and Grand Visions purchases.
What's the fastest way to upgrade my Myriad Lantern matrix?
There's no direct purchase or shortcut — upgrading from Starter to Millennial to Myriad Matrix is a percentage chance that increases each time you clear a Path Reward without upgrading. The more rounds you play, the more chances you get.
How do I trigger the Golden Pot in Pitch-Pot Challenge?
Land three consecutive Handle Shots — arrows thrown into the yellow timing zone. Up to three Golden Pots can appear in one game, and throws at a Golden Pot are guaranteed hits that don't cost arrows.
Which Governor of the Moon stages have the same point targets?
Power Boost (Day 1) and Soldier Training (Day 4) share identical milestone targets, and Hero Development (Day 3), Hero Gear (Day 5), and Governor Gear (Day 7) also share identical targets. Only Beast Hunting (Day 2) and Resource Gathering (Day 6) have their own unique numbers. See the full table above for exact milestone points.
This is a first-look guide based on the pre-launch event preview. Governor of the Moon's point targets are confirmed for all seven stages, but exact reward quantities elsewhere in the event can still shift slightly once it goes live on your server — check back after launch if you spot a discrepancy.
